Fed up with Portsmouth? Fancing watching or taking part in some Taekwondo action? then your at the right place. This weekend we'll be heading up to Leeds Uni for the club's last ever ITF tournament. It'll cost £20 (that'll cover your transport/accomodation and entry fee's) and we'll be staying for two nights in a twelve star hotel (travel lodge). This tournament is one of the easiet ones of the year, so if your thinking of doing tournaments in the future - this is a good place to start. If you wanna compete you will need a dobok (£15) and a gumshield (£8). Its important that you let someone on the committee know ASAP if you wanna go because their only a set amount of spots and we have to order the gear by Wednesday, contact Adam(07704656567) or Steve(07811335247) or Amee(07789811612) for more details!
You may not know about ITF tournaments, so heres some of the basics: It's semi-contact sparring, point stop (if you get a point the fight stops, and you go back to start - person with most points at the end wins), foot/hand/head/groin guards and gumshields are the protective gear (shin and arm guards are optional) - [apart from the gumshields all of these are provided by the club] and it's comprises of 2, 1½ minute rounds depending on how much time is available.

If you havent already booked your place then book it now! There are only four spaces left, so if you want one then let us know either training tonight or earlier (and bring the £20 with you).
We'll be meeting at 2:45pm on Friday at the Union and returning about 5pm Sunday, heres a quick checlist of stuff to bring:
- Change of clothes (including shoes if you wanna go clubbing).
- Valid ID.
- Dobok/Gumshield if your competiting.
- Some money if you wanna eat while we're away.
