Yes the first tournament of the year! and we wanna get as many people to come along to this tournament as possible, you don’t need to be ‘picked’ by the instructors or anything if you wanna go and if you feel maybe it’s a bit too early for a tournament then why not come along and support your team as a spectator. The tournaments are always great fun to watch or be a part of and they are also a great learning experience, so get yourself involved! It’ll cost you ludicrously cheap £5 to attend (as a spectator or competitor) and if you wanna get a feel of it, be sure to check out ‘Dorset Open’ under tournaments on the website to read about the event last year.
If you are thinking of competing in this tournament or any future tournaments, you will a dobok (pyjama suit) and license. As you should already know you will need to purchase a license anyway soon to continue training with the club and this will cost £15 (you’ll only need 1 license, that covers everything), but if you want a dobok we will very soon be doing a kit order, so keep your ears peeled for that. The cost of a dobok is £15.

This is just a reminder about the up and coming tournament in Dorset on the 30th October (Sunday). This tournament is very soon! so we need to get everything organised as quick as possible - heres a quick check list of everything u need to just so your clear if your going to compete:
- A dobok and a gumshield, if you haven't got 1 then bring £15 for a dobok or £8 for a gumshield on Thursday and order it then.
- A License, if you haven't got 1 then bring £15 on Thursday, with 2 passport photo's.
- To sign up with the club! If your not already registered with the club then you are not insured by the Uni and your not going! So bring £15 on Thursday and sign up.
- To fill in an entry form, if you haven't got one let us know! When you hand in this form you also need to pay £5 for transport/entry fee (cheap cos club pays for most of it). - This is important and needs to be handed in as soon as possible because the tournament is next week and we need to send off the forms! We need them at latest by this Wednesday (19/10/05 yes before Thursday's training), so get in contact with us and sort out a time/place to meet with one of the committee or Fab.
Apart from the transport/entry fee, all the above costs are one off fee's that will cover you for the whole year and most of you have probably already paid. In future tournaments once you have all of the above, you will only need to pay transport/entry or accommodation fee's which will be heavily subsidised by the club (so will be really cheap for u \o/).
If you are a spectator then all you need to worry about is the £5 transport/entry fee and that you are registered with the club, let us know as soon as possible if you wanna come along and support your team!
Anyway hope your all good and ready for the tournament - our contact details are on the website but don't hesitate to give me (07811335247) or Adam (07704656567) a call if you have any problems
Cheers
Steve
